Ombudsman

What is Ombudsman?

The word ombudsman comes the similar on used in Norway ombudsman. This person can work for the government and look after it’s assets. He is usually an independent official who has been put in place by the government and he handles complaints from the public concerning governmental officials, or private corporations, local government agencies and so on. The ombudsman has a wide range of investigation methods what he can use but he doesn’t have any serious power for example to reverse any decisions though he has a big moral authority.

If you filed a complaint for what ever reason with the company and the result was not satisfactory then you can turn to an ombudsman. He will investigate and after he’s job is done he’s going to make recommendations. It’s important to know that the ombudsman has only symbolic powers, there are times when company’s won’t follow the ombudsman’s recommendations but most of the times they will, so there’s nothing to worry about.
