What is National Insurance?

National insurance is a social security scheme which is funded and operated by the local government. This scheme provides the following benefits: maternity, retirement pension, sickness. And for these benefits the anybody from the working class can apply. Every employee and employer contributes to this with and the contribution is according to their wage or salary level. Also the government contributes to the national insurance with taxing the population. For example if you go on a maternity leave then the time while your gone is funded by the national insurance money.
