What is Incapacity benefit?

Incapacity benefit comes in to play when a person has used up the sickness benefits and he is still in a condition which is still unfit for work. There are three different rates the short term lower rate which means that the person was sick for the last four days which includes holydays and weekends and it can be only be obtained under special circumstances for young people. There’s the second one short term higher rate if you’ve been sick in the last 28 weeks in row but less then 52. And there the third one which is long term rate if you have been sick for more then 52 weeks.
