What is a Grant?

The word grant could mean many different things like if your granted a loan that means you have been approved and will receive the loan. Grant can also mean a contribution or a gift given by the government for a non profit organization with a specific purpose. Grants usually have conditions which restricts its use. The main difference between a grant and a loan is that the grant is issued out immediately and there are no predefined conditions for repayment.
